Have you noticed that the amount of water that gets into your washing machine has reduced compared to when you first used it?
Well, the most likely culprit is the inlet valve. The reduced water flow is often due to the clogging of the inlet filters. This clogging can be due to the use of hard water or the presence of silt, lint, sand, and particles in tap water.
What are inlet valves?
At the back of your washing machine, a system controls the amount of water that gets into the drum. The water Inlet valve links two water hoses carrying hot and cold water. A water inlet valve gets signals from the machine and manages the flow of water into the tube.
Water flows from the piping system into the washer, where it mixes with detergent to allow for washing of clothes. The resulting soapy and dirty water after the wash is then drained. In rinsing, water will enter the barrel. The effectiveness of LG washing machines is dependent on the working of the inlet valves. The washer will not fill properly if the water inlet is obstructed.
That’s all great but how do you clean water inlet valves in your LG washing machine?
Switch off the electrical power supply

Turn off the water supply to the washer
